A Writer's Best Helper

Sorry...

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 21, 2006, 5:47 PM
Due to a lack of interested critics this group will once again be shutting it's doors.

Our resources will be left here and maybe more will be added as time goes by. We shall see.

How great is it when no one will take the time or the effort to offer the help that is needed?

Critiques are not getting done anymore.

Try the lit forums, there are workshops there where you can get multiple critiques.

People shouldn't be afraid of their governments; governments should be afraid of their people.

That doesn't make much sense to me. Just leave it open, and let stuff get critiqued slowly and surely, or put some kind of statute of limitations on it-if nobody looks at it for a month, then it gets moved to the bottom of the list.

I'm drunk right now, and feeling guilty for not critiquing more often-but seriously, why intentionally sabotage yourself? Going out in a blaze of glory mind-set or something? Quiting = not glorious.

:( It's a shame... it could have done much to help the community...

This group has gone inactive three times now, three. People want the help but they won't give it. Or real life hits and they can't.

I don't think a critique has been done on here for more than three weeks, so what's the point. People are noting the account wondering why they aren't being helped.

Three weeks isn't that long of a time. People (reviewers and reviewies) have to be patient. If this is the third time the group has become inactive, is there not reason to believe that eventually it will become active again? If the lull is really bothering you, maybe what would be best would be thinking about new promotional strategies, making a fresh forum post, or asking other people to link to the group in their journal.

Seems like one of the better organized writing groups around, so it would be a shame to see it given up completely. Maybe it justs needs a vacation.
